About Bear Butte Lodge
Bear Butte Lodge is the Rosebud Sioux Tribe's
Educational, Spiritual and Cultural Center.
The Lodge is
located 8 miles east of Sturgis, South Dakota. Our
primary focus is toward at risk Native American youth.
The Lodge provides a peaceful retreat and haven to
people of all ages and all nations. The sacred mountain
helps to restore their culture, pride, self esteem and
identity.
Native elders, leaders, Tribal programs, community
programs and schools bring groups to the Lodge for
traditionally based programs and ceremonial use.
Under no circumstances may people charge for ceremonies,
no exceptions.
We
welcome workshops and classes that promote the
understanding of Native American culture, heritage and
traditions.
The Lodge sits on 40 acres and is located on the North
side of Bear Butte. It offers seven bedrooms downstairs
with a total of 16 beds, full bathroom, living room and
fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary cooking
utensils. The upstairs offers three available bedrooms
with a total of five beds, one and a half baths, living
room and kitchen. A sweat lodge is also available for
purification ceremony.

What to bring when you come to the Lodge:

Your
own food and bottled water

Towels

Paper goods such as; plates, napkins, etc.

Personal toiletries
Guests are responsible for their own cooking and
cleaning.
Camping is also available, for both tent camping and
self contained RV’s. Bring your own tents or tipi
lodge’s. Please see fee schedule for details
The Lodge rates may vary depending upon group, number of
people and length of stay.

Rates are subject to change and to be arranged with
manager upon making reservations. We also welcome
families to reserve the Lodge for personal use, retreats

The Bear Butte Lodge prohibits smoking inside the
Lodge. The Lodge and grounds are a drug and alcohol
free
establishment, no exceptions.
